Dr. Sereni got her PhD in the laboratory of Dr. Anna Villa at San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-Tiget, Milan) working on a project aimed to dissect the platelet defect in Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome, a severe primary immunodeficiency. In 2019 she moved to Boston and she joined the new established lab of Dr. Pietro Genovese at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, after receiving the 2019-2020 Postdoctoral Fellowship from the American-Italian Cancer Foundation. At Dana-Farber, Dr. Sereni focused on the development on new personalized treatment for the cure of solid tumors, by exploiting cutting-edge gene editing technologies.
Outside of the lab, Lucia is an amateur photographer, she enjoys hanging out with friends, going to museums and movie theaters and, most of all travelling, around the world (next stop Bolivia)!
